Independent Living Family Apartment, Bundoran

This is a two story extension placed between an existing house and garage to provide independent living for a retired couple annexed to the main dwelling house where their daughter and her young family live. The ground floor has a new open plan kitchen, dining and living room as well as an accessible shower room and bedroom. There are floor to ceiling windows at the north-western side of the living area providing views of the garden area. On the second floor, a second bedroom and ensuite has been added for guest accommodation if visitors want to stay over. The exterior was designed to match the existing structures so that the original design was unbroken and the extension looks like a seamless continuation of the main house.
